ディレクターコメント
寝っ転がり、何やらお悩み中のダニ。
引っ越した先の家で出くわした虫が、あまりに当たり前にその場にいたので、市川はむしろ自分が彼らの家に入ってしまったのではないかという肩身の狭さ・申し訳なさを感じ、彼らの生活に焦点を当ててこのシリーズを制作した。
黄色いベースの作品がⅠ、こちらがⅡとなっている。
人間の周囲の生き物と人間の関係を主なモチーフとして、シルクスクリーンやドローイング作品を制作している市川。ユーモアに富んだ作品は単なる風刺画ではなく、現代に生きる我々人間の矛盾や滑稽さがある種の慈しみを持って描きだされている。人間に翻弄される生き物たちに対して生まれる奇妙な笑いとすこしの罪悪感、そしてそこに確かにある愛情。メディアとして用いられた版画に隠されたメッセージを読み解くのも面白い。

こちらの作品は、市川詩織個展「石の下の倫理」開催にあたり、2023年2月8日以降の納品を予定しております。

Gallery Commentary
Tick is lying down and thinking about something.
The insects that Ichikawa encountered in the house she moved to were so commonplace there that she felt somewhat apologetic as if she had entered their home, and she created this series focusing on their lives.
The work with the yellow base is I, and this is II.
Ichikawa Shiori is an artist who creates silkscreen and drawing works using the relationship between humans and the creatures around us as her main motif. Her humorous works are not mere caricatures but rather depict the contradictions and ridiculousness of our modern life with a kind of compassion. The strange laughter, a little bit of guilt, and a particular love for the creatures at the mercy of humans. It is interesting to decipher the messages hidden in the prints used as a medium.
 
About the Delivery
This work will be delivered after February 8, 2023 to be displayed in Ichikawa's solo exhibition "Ethics Under the Stone."
