作家コメント
イエティも換毛するのだろうかというアイディアから生まれた珍作
作者の思う理想のイエティ
張り子という「ぬけがら」の存在が面白い。「中身がない」生き物
木版画で毛皮と顔を刷ってコラージュしている
 
ディレクターコメント
木版で刷った紙を「張り子」としてコラージュしている作品。
「張り子」とは、平安頃に中国から伝来した造形技法で、主に伝統的な郷土玩具などに用いられる。
中空になっていて、とても軽いのが特徴だ。
 
波能かなみは、木版画独特の深みのある重なりや和紙に起こる滲みによって、空間に溶け出すような抽象的な人物画を制作している。作品から流れ出る静かな強さは、あえてぼかされ、ぶれている人物の視線をたどるうちにこちらにも流れ込んでくるようだ。人物のフォルムの変化や、近年の支持体、立体作品への挑戦にも注目したい。

Artist Comment
This odd work was born from the doubt that the Yeti might also shed.
It is an ideal Yeti in the artist's head.
The existence of the "empty" of a papier-mâché is interesting. It is a creature "without substance."
 
Gallery Commentary
This work is a collage of woodblock-printed paper as "papier-mâché."
"Hariko" is a technique of papier-mâché that was introduced from China around the Heian period (794-1192), and is mainly used for traditional local toys.
It is hollow and has a very lightweight feature.
 
HANO creates portraits that seem to dissolve into space through the deep layers and blotches on Japanese paper.
The quiet intensity of her works seems to flow into us as we follow the figures' gaze, which is intentionally blurred and blurred. Also, that is changing their expressions each time we look at them and giving us a discovery.
The humorous forms of the figures and animals in her artwork are changing, which is fun to follow. Her recent attempts to create supports and sculptures are also noteworthy.
