Gallery Soumei-do is pleased to present a solo exhibition "Almost a month" by IMAI Kei.

IMAI Kei's artworks are created using a silkscreen, and the medium, moisture, and the studied power adjustment of printing used during the printing process show us a combination of tension and accidentality. The artworks strongly reflect the artist's refined aesthetic sense and there is something new to discover each time.

From April 7th to May 6th, 2020, while the state of emergency declared by COVID-19, Imai holed up in an apartment in Tokyo and created one work every day using the same screen frame and materials.

In this exhibition, Imai shows a variety of works that were created over the term.

The thirty works, marked with the date of printing, have so many expressions that it is hard to believe they were created from a single frame. These are days gone by, however, we certainly had our own thoughts and feelings. They remind us that each day that passed in a hurry and with anxiety did indeed exist.
